The Ph.D. in Portuguese-Speaking Countries Studies belongs to international relations field of academic studies. Our program is the third to be open around the world. It has been developed in line with requirements of Central Government to blend Macau into ‘The Belt and Road’ Initiative and to make Macau as platform of economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking countries. It likewise, acknowledges the Macau S.A.R demand as well as the university target of developing cross-discipline researches. The program content focused on society, economy, culture, law, international relations and regional governance.
The program is taught by a variety of professors with a remarkable academic background and by distinguished Visitant Professors experts in specific subject matters. The Academic Advisory Board is composed of scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Catholic university of Portugal, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University (People’s Republic of China), Jilin University, and Jinan University etc. Throughout the academic activities, students will have the opportunities to pay a visit relevant countries performing research or exchange programs.
