Visit to BNU by PhD and master’s degree students from City University of Macau (IROPC and FOB)


In the morning of November 21, 2022, 40 PhD and master’s degree CityU students from the Institute of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (IROPC) and the Faculty of Business (FOB), led by Professor Francisco Leandro, Associate Dean of the Institute of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (IROPC), visited the Fundação Rui Cunha to attend a presentation about Banco Nacional Ultramarino Macau (BNU).

 

 

The group was personally welcomed and greeted by the Bank’s executives and representative, namely Dr. Pedro Theotonio, Director of the Financial and Corporate Development Division, Dr. Francisco Chan, Director of Retail Banking and SME Division, Dr. Gloria Sam, Deputy Director of the Marketing and Public Relations Department and Dr. Márcia Guerreiro, representative of BNU's International Department. The BNU team gave a detailed and comprehensive presentation, introducing the bank’s past and present in Macau, its mother bank - CGD Group’s global network, the major player’s Cross-Border Business, sustainability framework and business with small & medium enterprises (SME), together with its contribution to product and services innovation and the financial integration of Macau in the Great Bay Area of China.

 

 

After the presentation, Professor Leandro and the students had an opportunity to raise questions and to seek for more details about the BNU current activities, operation, vision for the future and professional development, carrying out an interactive discussion with the guest speakers. After the event, both sides went to the BNU’s headquarters nearby for a group photo.

 

 

CityU’s each student was given a pack of gifts by the BNU. The representative student of City University of Macau presented Dr. Francisco Chan, Director of Retail Banking and SME Division, with the latest academic book title "China, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe: From sporadic bilateral exchanges to a comprehensive multilateral platform", marking a successful end to the visit.
