On the 22th of October 2018, Professor Maria Fernanda Pargana Ilhéu (ISEG) University of Lisbon (Portugal) gave a lecture titled “MSAR role in the B&RI and the Portuguese-speaking Countries – an economic perspective”. Professor Ip Kuai Peng (Dean of IROPC), Associate Professor Peng Chao (Director of B&R Research Centre) and the Associate Professor Francisco José Leandro (Assistant-Dean of IROPC) welcomed our guest and presented the welcome gift as a token of appreciation.
Professor Ilhéu exercises her lectureship at Lisbon’s School of Economics and Management (ISEG). She is also Coordinator of ChinaLogus – Business Knowledge & Relationship with China, at ISEG. She is graduated in Economics at ISEG, is post-graduated in Marketing and Export Management at the Cambridge Institute of Massachusetts, got Master’s degree in Strategic Management at Lisbon’s Higher Institute of Business and Labor Sciences (ISCTE), and a European Doctorate degree in Business Administration and Marketing at the University of Seville (Spain).
Professor Ilhéu is presently President of the New Silk Road Friends Association a Portuguese Think Tank on OBOR initiative. She has lived 18 years in Macau, executing roles of leadership in both the private and public sectors; in addition she was also visiting professor at the University of Macau. In her professional life in Portugal she got vast experience in international business and commerce, accumulating her lectures in ISEG with duties in private companies performing international business. From 1997 till 2009 she was Director of the Portuguese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Lisbon and Vice-President of the EU-China Business Association, in Brussels from May 1998 to May 2009. She is also a researcher at CESA – Centre for Studies of Africa, Asia and South America at ISEG and she got several publications on journals and books on China economy and business.
