Biography: 

Dr. Wai-Kei (Keith) WONG was born and raised in Macao. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries, City University of Macau.

Prior to his academic career, he built a diverse professional background with hands-on experience across banking, higher education administration, and public service with the Macao SAR Government. This has equipped him with a practical understanding of finance, university governance, and public administration.

He received a PhD in Political Science from Sun Yat-sen University (2023), an MA in Government Management from Chinese Culture University (2019), and a BBA in Marketing from the University of Macau (2015). After receiving his PhD, he was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Macau Studies, University of Macau. There, under the supervision of Professor Agnes Lam, he contributed to the "Macao Gazetteer Publication Project," resulting in the publication of Macao Gazetteer: Book of Geography—the first local gazetteer of Macao completed since the founding of the People's Republic of China. His research focuses on the fields of Comparative Politics and Area Studies, with specific interests in Political Stability, Policing Studies, and Electoral Politics. He is also passionate about promoting China Studies, particularly Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Studies.

Comparative Politics and Area Studies. Also passionately promoted China Studies, especially Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Studies.
