On the 17th of September 2019, Dr. Eduardo Ambrósio, Head of Lusophone Markets Association in Macau had been invited as guest speaker to the IROPC 13th Academic Salon. Dr. Eduardo delivered a speech on ‘MSAR as a platform for the Lusophone World-business practices and opportunities’. The event was held in Macau Military Club (Bridge Room), in English language.
Dr. Eduardo Ambrósio briefly introduced his career of investment in Portuguese-speaking Countries and generously shared his vision with all. When it comes to the suggestions to young entrepreneurs, Dr. Eduardo Ambrósio mentioned the main obstacles are language and networking skills, as basic steps for business is effective communication.
Furthermore, he included law, religion, location, culture and mentality among the most significant business challenges. With the business development between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries bilingual or multilingual talents will be continuously needed, he mentioned.
The second point addressed the different ways of thinking. Therefore, Dr. Eduardo Ambrósio encouraged students to travel more and meanwhile improve the intercultural skills. Dr. Eduardo mentioned the case of Chinese medicine as a very promising area for business in African markets, despite of the challenges in Europe and North America markets. To conclude, Dr. Eduardo Ambrósio asserted that the most promising investments in Portuguese-speaking Countries would still be food products, coffee and pharmaceutics industries, calling our attention to the fact that Angola and Mozambique will be very attractive markets in the future.
